talked to my scheduler/manager about christmas eve, so hopefully all will work out well.
here is one of my letter of recs to law school.
Re: Recommendation for Vicky Hsu
It is with enthusiasm that I write this law school recommendation for a former student, Vicky Hsu. Vicky enrolled in two of my classes, Organizational Behavior and Compensation. Her academic performance was exemplary, not only in earning good grades, but in her interest of learning. She actively participated in class, visibly prepared for assignments and discussions, and demonstrated a desire to apply the class material to her own life and professional pursuits. Vicky completed required assignments on time and with a high degree of quality. In addition, when presenting her work, whether individually or in a group, she conducted herself with professionalism; she clearly presented the material, focused on the relevant points, and calmly fielded questions.
Beyond her academic preparation, Vicky exhibited a willingness to think about concepts in new ways. Rather than simply accepting information passively, she took an active stance in her learning. She investigated the “why” behind the concepts, and offered up novel ways of viewing a situation, theory, or application. This blend of curiosity and critical thinking distinguished Vicky from many other students in the classroom.
A defining characteristic that Vicky exhibited during class was her respect for the opinions and feelings of others. She set an example for her classmates by offering her views in a respectful and non-offensive way. In addition, during group activities, she often took the lead in establishing a respectful atmosphere among her colleagues that allowed for productive dialogue and discussion. By shaping her learning experience in a manner that facilitated others’ involvement, Vicky added to a healthy environment for academic discussions.
Vicky displays a desire to learn, a willingness to exert the effort needed for success, and the skills helpful in building group cohesion. She approaches her work with curiosity, creativity, and a positive attitude. She maintains a high degree of accountability for her work and a strong sense of responsibility for her learning. In addition, the analytical skills that I have seen her display in the classroom will serve her well in furthering her education in law. I have no reservations in her ability to craft a successful future for herself.
Please let me know if you have questions or need additional information.
